Erin is an Account Executive and manages all of Echo’s Small Parcel clients. After graduating from Loyola-Chicago with a major in Finance, International Business and Economics, Erin was looking for a place to work after graduation that would be challenging and fun.

Q: How did you end up at Echo?
A: Before graduation, I interviewed at several different companies and was offered a few jobs, but none of them were as intriguing as Echo. When I interviewed at Echo there were only about 25 employees and even then I was impressed by the culture and atmosphere-I knew immediately I should take advantage of this unique opportunity. I interviewed with Sr. Management and once hired, had the opportunity to interact with them on a daily basis. It has been a tremendous experience so far and I have learned much more than I anticipated.

Q: What exactly is your role at Echo?
A: I manage Echo’s small parcel program, utilizing FedEx, UPS and DHL, on behalf of our Enterprise clients. From account implementation to auditing invoices, billing and reporting, we ensure customer visibility at a package level. I also have additional responsibilities with significant exposure in other departments within Echo. These allow me to utilize different skill sets. I manage EchoIQ™, our reporting portal where clients have access to customized reports as well as daily financial reports that are distributed to the Sr. Management team.

Q: You’re a real veteran at Echo, how has it changed?
A: Echo has experienced tremendous growth and it has been quite an experience to be a part of it. You have to embrace change with rapid growth and since Echo is always evolving, we are constantly creating new processes and turning ideas into solutions. It’s exciting because we are building from scratch, not just fitting to a mold. Since we are always adding new team members, there are always new people to meet and fresh ideas being brought to the table. Echo is comprised of driven and smart professionals and the opportunity to work side by side with such talent provides a daily learning experience.

Q: What are your thoughts on the transportation industry?
A: I never expected to work in the transportation and logistics industry, but I have learned that there are many facets to this business and doors to be opened. The great thing about this industry and Echo in particular, is that regardless of your background or experience, it is easy to make a smooth transition given the right training and tools.

Q: What do you do outside of work?
A: I am the oldest of eight and since my family lives in Kansas City, I go home frequently to visit them. I also love to travel, shop and work out at David Barton Gym.
