Kevin is a "type A" personality, which made him just right to have a team of six sales people reporting to him. Kevin graduated form the University of Minnesota, a big school for a guy from a high school graduating class of 100. He held several sales positions in Minneapolis before moving Chicago for the big city life. He started at Echo in January of 2007.

Q: Why did you join the Echo team?
A: I joined Echo because I thought the environment was exciting. After about five months I was promoted to team lead. My managers said it was my work ethic and drive that made me promotable. I think it has to do with the number of questions I was answering for the new people all the time, and my commitment. I like helping people, so I was happy to help guide new team members as much as I could. My responsibilities as a team lead have changed a lot as Echo grows and there are always new challenges.

Q: Who is the right kind of person to join the Echo team?
A: Echo is the perfect environment for someone driven and ready to work in a team environment with a solid support structure. This is the place to be if you want to grow and be rewarded for hard work. Compared to some companies, there aren’t as many restrictions here, on either what you do or when you do it. Basically, there isn’t much of a “rulebook.” Echo gives you the environment to be yourself so your strengths and talents can be put to good use.

Q: What,s your favorite part of your job?
A: I really like the group of people that I work with because we all have similar goals and work ethics. Developing relationships with clients has been something I’ve found I really enjoy as well. Talking to a perfect stranger and developing a long term business relationship that is mutually beneficial is truly rewarding. Because Echo is a relatively young company, new processes and best practices are being created and evolving all the time. It’s been really rewarding to be a part of this creative process and watching my colleagues grow as well.

Q: What do you do after work?
A: I tutor underprivileged kids once a week and this year I am taking on a new extreme sport – Kitesurfing on Lake Michigan. It,s pretty intense. I also like to work out either at lunch or after work at David Barton Gym, in the basement of Echo’s building – it’s a great way to release some stress with friends from work.
