As the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation continues to progress, businesses are stepping up to make a big impact for those being affected the most.

One such company is Echo’s client, EverBlock Systems, a leading manufacturer and provider of modular building systems. EverBlock is working with the governor of Louisiana and his response team to provide thousands of modular wall panels and life-size building blocks to build a temporary pop-up hospital facility in the Ernest M. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. To mitigate the spread of COVID-19, sleeping pods, isolation units, nursing stations, bed areas, testing sites, and more are being built throughout the convention center using the company’s modular building blocks, as well as its EverPanel modular sanitary divider walls.

EverBlock knew their products could help immensely during this time, and when they realized that New Orleans was likely to become an epicenter for the virus, they contacted state and local leaders right away. Government officials understood the value of EverBlock’s products and expressed their urgent need for these materials.

EverBlock had to immediately ship the materials needed to construct over 2,000 sleeping pods from the Bronx, NY to New Orleans, LA. Since all of their attention was focused on organizing and preparing their products, EverBlock called on their long-term 3PL partner, Echo Global Logistics, to coordinate the shipment of these goods. The Echo team of logistics experts was able to rapidly secure 35 team truckloads to expedite the shipments.

“Without Echo’s partnership, we would not have been able to get our products to New Orleans as quickly as this situation required,” said Arnon Rosan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer at EverBlock Systems. “The team at Echo handled what could have been time-consuming and complicated shipments with ease. They are a true resource to our team, especially during unprecedented times like these.”

Because the products arrived in New Orleans so quickly, the EverBlock team was able to set up thousands of sleeping pods in record time to prepare for incoming patients. As more equipment for the pop-up hospital is rolling off of EverBlock’s manufacturing line, Echo is continuing to secure expedited shipments bound for New Orleans.

“At Echo, our goal is to simplify transportation management for our clients and carriers, handling crucial tasks so they can focus on what they do best,” said Doug Waggoner, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer at Echo. “We’re proud that we’re able to fulfill this commitment for EverBlock Systems so they can continue to make a big impact on the lives of those in New Orleans.”

During this time, Echo remains fully operational, continuing to service all modes of transportation, including truckload, partial truckload, LTL, intermodal, and expedited. If you are in need of expedited shipping for your products, Echo offers hot shot ground and air cargo services all over the U.S. for time-sensitive shipments. Drawing on our network of over 10,000 expedited carriers, and more than 50,000 carriers overall, our team diligently monitors your shipments from origin to destination to ensure your freight delivers on time, safely, and within budget.
