Sales Trainer

The SDR Sales Trainer position is a highly visible role at Echo, responsible for owning the development and delivery of SDR Sales training programs while also supporting broader Branch Training initiatives. This role will lead SDR new hire and ongoing training efforts, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with business objectives.

In addition to SDR program ownership, this role will function as a Branch Trainer, supporting Client Sales and Operations training needs when SDR classes are not in session. The SDR Sales Branch Trainer will work closely with SDR leadership and partner with Learning & Development to continuously evolve training curriculum and build out ongoing education initiatives.

This role will manage the facilitation process and classroom environment to ensure strong learner engagement and achievement of learning objectives. The SDR Sales Branch Trainer will directly report to the New Hire Training Manager within the Talent Optimization Department.

Main Responsibilities

· Facilitate SDR Sales New Hire Training Programs and ongoing SDR training initiatives (5–30 employees) on a regular cadence, on-site and/or remotely

· Own the development, iteration, and continuous improvement of SDR training curriculum, in partnership with the training team and SDR leadership

· Design and lead continued education programs for SDR Sales reps to drive ongoing skill development post-onboarding in partnership with the Learning & Development team

· Ensure training aligns with SDR sales strategies, processes, and performance expectations

· Support Client Sales Branch Training Programs when SDR classes are not in session, including:

  • Transportation 101
  • Inside Sales Training Program

· When not facilitating classes, continue to develop and coach SDRs throughout their sales journey

· Support broader branch training needs, including:

  • Operations training sessions
  • Ad hoc training requests from business stakeholders
  • Cross-functional training support across Client Sales, Carrier Sales, and Managed Transportation (MT)

· Work with Instructional Design and L&D teams to understand training content, objectives, and program structure

· Analyze training effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve or expand existing programs

· Facilitate continuous training initiatives as directed by business stakeholders

· Manage and deliver follow-up training sessions and reinforcement activities

· Maintain a consistent program delivery method as outlined in the Facilitator Handbook

· Keep up-to-date with SDR business priorities, industry trends, and internal process changes

· Travel to off-site locations as needed to support training initiatives

Additional Responsibilities

· Partner closely with SDR leadership to align training with business needs and performance goals

· Provide internal client support by responding to employee questions and training-related needs

· Help create and implement quality controls to enhance the learning experience

· Support cross-training efforts across the broader training team to ensure flexibility and coverage

· Participate in Talent Optimization and Training team initiatives, as needed

Position Requirements

· 2+ years tenure at Echo with Inside Sales or SDR Sales experience

· 2–4 years of previous work experience

· Strong understanding of SDR sales motion, processes, and performance drivers

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Demonstrates a strong passion for sales and a commitment to developing high-performing sales talent.

· Ability to design, facilitate, and continuously improve training programs

· Ability to captivate an audience and build credibility with learners and business leaders

· Proven time management and organizational skills

· Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities

· Ability to travel (up to 10% may be required)

· Proficiency in Echo systems (Optimizer, Accelerator, Clutch, EchoShip, Salesforce)

· Working knowledge of Echo Sales Methodology and Operations processes

· Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

Desired Qualities

· Previous training or facilitation experience preferred

· Experience working with SDR sales teams or programs preferred

· Experience with curriculum development or continuous education programs preferred

· Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally with business leaders and L&D teams

· Comfortable operating in a hybrid role balancing program ownership and branch support
