Campus Director – Distribution Operations

Roadtex Transportation has become a leader in the nationwide LTL industry, specializing in transporting time and temperature-sensitive products. We handle refrigerated and LTL needs by leveraging no sailing schedules, our nationwide network of 32 strategically placed temperature-controlled facilities, our state-of-the-art tracking, and our specialized equipment and warehousing capabilities. In 2022, Roadtex was acquired by Echo Global Logistics. The acquisition brings a truckload brokerage and expanded transportation management solutions to Roadtex’s customers while providing Echo with our national warehouse footprint and advanced temperature-controlled transportation solutions. 

The Campus Director is the senior operational leader for the Greenfield Distribution Campus, overseeing four distribution facilities totaling approximately 2.4 million square feet of ambient and temperature-controlled warehouse space.

This leader owns overall campus performance across safety, quality, service, client relationships, labor, financial performance, capacity, facilities, and continuous improvement. The Campus Director translates business and client requirements into an integrated operating strategy, drives accountability across the leadership team, and ensures consistent execution across the campus.

This role is highly cross-functional and partners closely with Operations, Client Experience, Finance, Human Resources, Safety, Quality, IT, Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Campus & Operational Leadership

  • Lead performance across four facilities, establishing clear priorities, accountability, and operating rhythms.
  • Translate business forecasts, client commitments, and operational requirements into effective plans.
  • Identify and resolve cross-site capacity, productivity, service, and cost constraints.
  • Drive consistent operating standards, KPIs, and continuous improvement across the campus.

Client & Business Leadership

  • Serve as the senior operational partner for campus clients.
  • Ensure service commitments are consistently met and proactively address client risks.
  • Partner with commercial and client teams to support retention, growth, renewals, and new business opportunities.
  • Build strong client relationships through operational excellence and value creation.

Financial, Labor & Capacity Management

  • Own campus P&L performance, budget, labor, productivity, overtime, and controllable costs.
  • Align staffing, capacity, equipment, and warehouse space with business demand.
  • Use operational and financial data to identify opportunities and drive results.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Champion a culture where safety, quality, food safety, security, and operational discipline are non-negotiable.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Drive root-cause analysis and corrective action when performance or compliance gaps occur.

People & Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop site and operational leaders while building a strong leadership pipeline.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability across the organization.
  • Partner with HR on staffing, retention, engagement, training, and performance management.
  • Build a collaborative, high-accountability culture focused on continuous improvement.

Operational Excellence & Assets

  • Drive standard work, Lean principles, structured problem-solving, and process improvement.
  • Ensure warehouse systems, technology, facilities, equipment, and maintenance programs support safe and reliable operations.
  • Lead operational change initiatives that improve service, quality, productivity, and cost.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in warehousing, distribution, fulfillment, 3PL, or related operations.
  • 5+ years leading supervisors and/or multi-warehouse operations.
  • Proven experience managing complex, high-volume distribution operations with direct client responsibility.
  • Demonstrated P&L, labor, budget, productivity, and cost-management experience.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, labor management, and WMS technology.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement, Lean, standard work, and root-cause problem solving.
  • Experience in 3PL, food-grade, temperature-controlled, co-packing, or GFSI environments is highly valued.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
