Despite the hardships stemming from the COVID-19 outbreak, it has been inspiring to witness communities come together to help one another. Echo’s client Purely Elizabeth, an all-natural and organic food company, is a great example of generosity during this time.
Due to the impact COVID-19 has had on our economy, numerous Americans are facing financial stress and are finding it difficult to obtain quality food. To help alleviate this issue, Purely Elizabeth stepped up to provide their nutritious snacks to those in need.
At the onset of the outbreak, Purely Elizabeth launched a giveback campaign, in which they pledged to donate a portion of sales from their website to various charitable organizations in the form of the company’s healthy food products. The campaign was highly successful, so Purely Elizabeth was able to donate their snacks to many nonprofit organizations.
Since they were busy managing the giveback campaign, Purely Elizabeth reached out to their long-term 3PL partner, Echo Global Logistics, to donate and coordinate the shipping of over 28,000 granola bars to the Food Bank For New York City. Echo fully managed the transport and delivery of the granola bars for Purely Elizabeth, allowing them more time to focus on their philanthropic efforts.
“As a longtime client of Echo, we’ve had an excellent experience working with their team, so we knew without a doubt that we could rely on them to completely manage the transportation of our granola bars to the Food Bank For New York City,” said Elizabeth Stein, Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Purely Elizabeth. “We value our partnership with Echo, especially as we focus on helping those in need during this pandemic.”
The donation to the Food Bank For New York City had a deep significance for Purely Elizabeth because New York is where the company was started. It was important for Purely Elizabeth to give back to the community where they were founded, especially since the state has been hit hard with the most COVID-19 cases in the country.
“As a leading 3PL, we at Echo understand how critical it is for products to be transported quickly, securely, and cost-effectively—not just during this challenging time, but in every situation,” said Doug Waggoner, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer at Echo. “We’re thrilled to support Purely Elizabeth’s COVID-19 relief efforts by securing the transportation of their products.”
